Peach County is the center of Georgia's peach-growing region, along with Crawford, Taylor, and Macon counties. 80% of all Georgia's peaches are grown in these counties. The peach harvesting season is from mid-May until mid-August.

East of Fort Valley, Lane Southern Orchards (formerly known as Lane Packing Company) is a great showcase for Georgia's peach industry. Fresh produce, cobblers, ice cream, and other treats make a visit to Lane's a pleasant stop that is popular with both tourists and locals alike.

Dickey Farms in Musella is a little more off the beaten path, but is nice because it has an old-timey atmosphere. Dickey Farms also sells their peaches at the State Farmers Market in Macon, which is convenient for I-75 and I-475 interstate travelers.
